I'm Patrick Brennan — a global CFO with 20+ years leading finance, capital strategy and operational performance across $2B+ multinational enterprises and deep-tech ventures, and author of The Financial Spine.
I've spent my career where finance meets operations — as a senior finance executive at Honeywell with global P&L oversight across the US, EMEA and APAC, on the leadership team of Accenture's $2.3B global BPO business, and most recently as co-founder and CFO of WattAnywhere, a Swiss deep-tech energy company I helped build from inception.
I've raised institutional capital, structured bank-backed export financing with a global energy major, rebuilt commercial strategy through a pandemic, and stood up a multi-jurisdiction finance organisation from a blank page.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, I hold an MBA from Arizona State and a Master's in International Management from Thunderbird. From 2020 to 2022 I taught Business Operations in the University of Geneva's Executive MBA program. I live in French-speaking Switzerland with my family — and have spent as long on the yoga mat as in the boardroom.
Built the full finance organisation from inception across Switzerland, France and the US. Raised CHF 6M+ in equity and non-dilutive funding, structured a UBS-backed export financing facility supporting international pilots, and designed the Energy-as-a-Service financial models behind the company's market entry.
Led business operations for a $2.3B aerospace business. Delivered 26% revenue above operating plan for a key segment, cut past-due deliveries by $12.9M, and generated $18M in incremental orders through the COVID-19 disruption. Recognised with the Honeywell Aerospace "Go Beyond" award.
Finance leader for a $0.9B defence and business aviation portfolio. Achieved 20% cost reduction through finance systems integration and consolidation of regional operating processes.
Full P&L responsibility for a $1.8B propulsion portfolio; led strategic planning for the $2.5B business & general aviation segment, driving 6% annual revenue growth and identifying $130M in revenue opportunities through data-driven forecasting.
Leadership team member for cost-to-serve transformation across Accenture's $2.3B global BPO operations, delivering 3% margin improvement through cost visibility, productivity and shared services optimisation.
A finance book that uses yoga as its organizing metaphor — not for wellness, but for structural intelligence. The argument: finance is the spine of the organization, and like a spine, it works best when it lets everything else bend without breaking.
This book was written for the person who carries a number they cannot put down.
Drawing on twenty years across Honeywell, Accenture and a Swiss deep-tech startup — the wins, and the failures that taught more — The Financial Spine covers cash flow, incentives, the sales-finance bind, precision and trust, and the interior practice that keeps a leader steady under load. Coming late 2026.
